We have witnessed a horrific and ferocious Tsunami followed by an an earth quake in Pacific that lashed many lives of Japan. Now I remember that most bad incident - the atomic bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the final stages of World War II in 1945, by United States.Within the first two to four months of the bombings, the acute effects killed 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki, with roughly half of the deaths in each city occurring on the first day. Even now so many people remains as Hibakkushas - the victims. But they were resurrected from that valley of death with cheer determination as a fenix bird. That made them to be one of the fore running developed nations in the world. Unbelievable. The calamity happened recently is a crushing one for Japan. But the fact is very apparent, they will come back with multiple power in an year that is only because of their spirit towards their nation. They proud of their Nation. No blames, no lamentations. They will rebuild it with any cost. 1% SPACE (infrastructure, investment etc.), 4% discipline and 5% spirit.... that they have. But we lack the last too - the SPIRIT. PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN. GRAB EACH OPPORTUNITIES. PROCLAIM OUR ADVANTAGES AND QUALITIES.FORGET LIMITATIONS.
For a better India .better world. One India one people.
Let me add some points that put forward by Dr. M. S. Samuel (Director, Department of Computer Applications, Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies Tiruvalla(MACFAST)
) - lessons that we should learn from Japan experience.
TRY TO LEARN AT LEAST ONE
1. THE CALM: Not a single visual of chest-beating or wild grief.
Sorrow itself has been elevated.
2. THE DIGNITY: Disciplined queues for water and groceries. Not a
rough word or a crude gesture.
3. THE ABILITY: The incredible architects, for instance. Buildings
swayed but didn’t fall.
4. THE GRACE: People bought only what they needed for the present, so
everybody could get something.
5. THE ORDER: No looting in shops. No honking and no overtaking on the
roads. Just understanding.
6. THE SACRIFICE: Fifty workers stayed back to pump sea water in the
N-reactors. How will they ever be repaid?
7. THE TENDERNESS: Restaurants cut prices. An unguarded ATM is left
alone. The strong cared for the weak.
8. THE TRAINING: The old and the children, everyone knew exactly what
to do. And they did just that
9. THE MEDIA: They showed magnificent restraint in the bulletins. No
silly reporters. Only calm reportage.
10. THE CONSCIENCE: When the power went off in a store, people put
things back on the shelves and left quietly
