Japn lashes

Tsunami estimated a lost of Rs. 7.6 lakh crore in Japan
The magnitude 8.9 offshore quake -- the largest in Japan's history -- unleashed a 23-foot tsunami and was followed by more than 50 aftershocks for hours, many of them of more than magnitude 6.0.

Earth quake and tsunami caused a loss of Rs. 7.6 lakhs crore in Japan. It is assumed that Japan will drown to a sever financial crisis in the immediate future. At the same time, as a developed country Japan is one of the funding nation of under developed and developing countries. Even Kerala has a Drinking water project which is funded by Japan. Existing situation shows that this project will be abandoned in the way.

In between number of deaths augment day by day. Trains, ships and flights were disappeared in this fearful waves. One of my friend commented, "In Japan cars, trains and flights were drives to water and ships and boats moved to roads"
Dead bodies are scattered in different places especially in Miyagi and Minamisntigu. Around 4.5 lakhs in emergency shelters. There is no idea about 2500 of the tourism destinations in the vulnerable area. It will take another 2 months reinstall electricity in Tokyo and nearby 8 towns.Railway lines and communication facilities are all in trouble.
Now the developed country slips to crisis. Most of the harbors need huge investment for reconstruction which are the pillar stones of business. 7% of exports in Japan is through these ports. Ports like Haachinoha, Sendaayi, Ishinomaki, Onohama are mostly affected. Millions of people were facing a fifth day without water, food or heating in near-freezing temperatures along the devastated northeast coast. Meanwhile, a third reactor at a nuclear power plant lost its cooling capacity, raising fears of melt down while the Japanese stock markets plunged for a second day.
The highways to the worst-hit coastal areas were severely damaged and communications, including telephone lines, were snapped. Train services in northeastern Japan and in Tokyo, which normally serve 10 million people a day, were also suspended, leaving untold numbers stranded in stations or roaming the streets. Tokyo's Narita airport was closed indefinitely.
Most alarming fact is the issue of nuclear reactors. Prime Minister cautioned about the state of nuclear reactors. Most of us are in a fear of an yet another Hiroshima.

Because of the nuclear issue, some of the emergency teams and rescue operators were moved away from the scene.  People have witnessed an explosion in Fukushima reactor.Emergency cooling system in some nuclear reactors were failed, raising fears of serious accident.
Screening centres were being set up for people worried about exposure. The complete failure of more cooling systems has added an additional level of danger to what was already one of the worst nuclear accidents in Japan's history.
"The earthquake, tsunami and the nuclear incident have been the most severe crisis since the war ended 65 years ago," Prime Minister Naoto Kan told a news conference.

Now the condition of nuclear reactors in doubt.  The issue of energy crisis can be solved by exploring the high potential of nuclear energy. But the safety and handling of these reactors are also in question. Quiet natural......these are unexpected tragedies and no need to worry.

But lessons from Japan revealed that the tsunami was very ferocious and horrible there but the disaster management system in Japan was very strong that saved large number of lives. Experts stated that if this tsunami happened in Kerala, its effect was ten fold. So just after the incidents in 2008, Heithi and Japan, we are still in a dilemma. Are we safe?
We have just signed three agreements with Japan and Russia for setting up nuclear reactors in Bihar and Tanil Nadu. Aadditionally, nuclear liabilty bill in the midst of uncertainties. Also some of our dams are in serious threat.
Let's think a moment. What training we have got to tackle disasters.  Where we have pre sense tsunami/earth quake mechanism. Obviously, this all are unexpected and we can expect it too. Yes, look before you leap is the good idea. Treat before getting in to illness. National and state disaster management cell should revive and play its role actively.
Let me conclude like this. We all are human beings and it will happen to us also today or tomorrow. Nothing to proud or to boast. Be humble, simple and selfish. Live here as good persons. Share and love, help and care. contribute and compromise.

Have a great future.
