Welcome our heros'

Monsoon gets high in the midst of hot school opening tomorrow and it starts to dance with the dreams of nearly six lakhs kids. Schools are planned to celebrate  “Entrance Festival”  decked up with flowers, ribbons, balloons and buntings to cheer up the children who plans their way to the class rooms with their parents.Really, it adds color to the exciting dreams of millions our children.
New bags, brollies, magnifying dresses.........Oh, and above all, new friends, new teachers.........In a new world!  it raises the mesmerizing nostalgia of my early school days. With little shivering and almost wet dresses, We all entered to the first class. The fact 'RAIN' which ignites our dreams in the wet surroundings. An urge to cheer, a passion to dream and determination to learn that opens the windows of knowledge and wisdom widely, that creep everyone to the haven of dreams.
All my dear ones....................
I wish all my kids (Coming Heros') of my nation....all the luck. Come with colors and fly with vibrant dreams...

I owe to my community

I owe to my community
We are living in this world for a limited period and what measure ourselves are the time we spent here effectively and our contributions towards community. ‘To serve my community’ gives a purpose to life and a better ingredient to every human being.  Once, Howard Thurman said. “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

People around us are really in needs and it differs from person to person. The most crucial mission is to know the pulse of community and to be the pulse of the community. The quote best suits here, “when vision vanishes people perish”. The most important factor that I believe in service is ‘impart visions and missions for community’. Our works may vanish but our visions will exist forever and it will give life to people.
While reviewing ‘I owe to my rural community’, some important areas that we should give priority are Education, health and environment.

Education
Education enlightens people and it gives missions, visions and aspirations. If people get good education, our nation will get quality people that lead to the augment of human development index. This is the only solution to diminish poverty, unemployment and other severe crisis. When people know about their rights they start to live as responsible citizens. And while concluding, it is a need of this hour to create a developed India.

So we can contribute by start adult literacy programs, giving training, capacity building exercises, mission imparting process to inculcate them to the right path of development. Children of today are the citizens of tomorrow and the effort we put for educating children is the most valuable task.
Activities
·         Adult Literacy Programs
·         Training, orientation and capacity building exercises
·         Vision and Mission imparting programs
·         Awareness
·         Village knowledge centre networks
·         Library
·         Counseling and guidance
·         Career guidance
Health
The issues like under weight, stunt and malnourishment are the serious issues we are facing today. In order to achieve the dream ‘healthy mind in a healthy body’ we need to put more effort on this sector. It can be strengthened by implementing programs of state, central and different funding agencies. Along with poverty alleviation schemes, our attention should be to keep people away from diseases. So we can act as a moderator which makes people aware about the consequences of bad practices and the available programs and schemes to tackle issues.
·         Medical camps and check ups
·         Awareness workshops and seminars
·         Updating community on available schemes and programs
·         Poverty eradication activities
·         Personal hygiene exercises

Environment
We don’t have any life in the earth without a pristine environment and nature. The health of people depends on the quality of nature. But now we are the victims of our own doings. So now, the aspect environment should be our immediate agenda to ‘Save Our Earth’. Activities like tree plantation, water conservation and effective waste management, biodiversity preservation etc. are in utmost importance. This is the founding principle of Corporate Social Responsibility ‘something back to nature’.
Activities
·         Green school programs
·         Implementation of Micro level decentralized waste management
·         Local Sensitization Programs
·         Creative awareness
·         Make use of non-conventional source of energy
·         Tree plantation drive
·         Conservation of traditional verities

Rural India is really the soul and spirit of India and it gives vibrancy and diversity to our nation. In order to keep its liveliness, a planned movement is required. To lift people from poverty, to empower people with education and to raise environmental consciousness of society, we the young people India should get in to the field.

GSLV - 8

Yet another pride moment for My India. After two consecutive failures,  ISRO now resurrected as a fenix which adds one more luminous feathers to Indian Space innovations.

India's advanced communication satellite GSAT -8 was successfully launched into its geosynchronous transfer orbit by Arianespace's launch vehicle Ariane-5 from Kourou in French Guyana on early Saturday.

Weighing about 3100 Kg, GSAT-8 is configured to carry 24 high-power transponders and a two channel GPS-aided GEO Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) payload. Once it was introduced into its intended orbit, ISRO's master control facility in Karnataka's Hassan took control of the satellite and placed it into the geostationary orbit. The satellite will be positioned at 55 degree E longitude and co-located with INSAT 3E satellite. Its designed in-orbit mission life is more than 12 years.

The Ku-band (11-14 Gigahertz) transponders will augment the capacity of the INSAT system. While, GAGAN will improve the accuracy of positioning information received from GPS satellite through an improved network of ground-based receivers that will be made available to users in India through geostationary satellites.

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) spokesperson S Satish explained that GSAT-8 is essentially meant for DTH (direct to home) television services, but ISRO — still smarting from the Devas controversy — is not in a mood for leasing out bandwidth to private players. "None of the available bandwidth will be leased out to private operators. Doordarshan will use all of it, which will increase the state-run broadcaster's reach in the country," he explained.

ISRO's spent Rs 300 crore for the launch, and the project's cost is about Rs 600 crore.

"ISRO has 151 transponders that provide a variety of services. The launch of GSAT-8 will augment the transponder capacity with the addition of 24 Ku band transponders, taking it to a total of 175," Satish said.

ISRO had lost two satellites last year during its unsuccessful GSLV missions.

Proud to be an Indian. My India, Jai India

Face of Others make me Responsible

(From the Mission imparting exercise of Rev. Fr. Abraham Mulamoottil, Chairman Pushpagiri for Directors and Principles of Pushpagiri Group of Institutions)
Living a silly life, playing a broken fiddle and leading a simple life. No worries as Epicureans because there is no tomorrow, enjoy today lavishly that make me irresponsible. But while missing the great 'Self', we are leaving the same but simple 'Others'. Then How the faces of others make me responsible?   It is better to start with a story..............
(This is why Levinas's thinking begins with the Other's face. The fact that the Other makes me responsible...........)

"There was a farm house in a Village. Once a mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap. Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning. There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house!
There       is        a     mousetrap in the house!" The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I’m sorry for you, but it’s no skin off my nose." So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer’s mousetrap alone. That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.

The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer’s wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital, and she returned home with a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup’s main ingredient. But his wife’s sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer’s wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for her funeral; the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them. The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness."

The warning of mouse was totally rejected by everyone and at last every one became the victims of  one thing. Most of us thinks that "this is none of my business". There is nothing to care others. An attitude of greed and selfishness. Let me quote an incident from The Holy Bible, Mark 2:1-12-A paralytic man, who was carried by four men. They striven a lot to because of the crowd, but uncovered the roof and lowered the mat the man was lying on. Jesus said to the paralytic,“I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”all were amazed and glorified God,saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
I think whole the  themes included in this small incident. Jesus delivered the paralytic man due to the outstanding care of others. Really the face of feeble man made their friends responsible. This is what is expected from us, if we can stretch our hands to care God will come as CURE.
We are caregivers, God is the cure giver.Often we don’t care for others because we are afraid that we don’t have the answers or can solve somebody’s dilemma. God lifts that burden from us and tells us “Just care for others and leave the cure giving to Me.
We are caregivers, God is the cure giver. So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and you think it doesn’t concern you, remember when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.
We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

Farewell to Mulamoottil

At last, We have given a farewell to Rev. Dr. Abaham Mulamoottil, brain behind Macfst. In the words of Rev. Fr. Pradeep (Principal) not farewell, but a felicitation. not a 'good bye' but a 'good luck'.

Huge number appreciations, different experiences, different emotions and different views. But every one said one thing. "We can't express our gratitude in words. It is beyond our words and speeches. Certainly nothing can substitute Mulamoottil."
Now let me move on to the comments of different people.

"Unique contributions. MACFAST owes much to him.We can't express it in words. Great loss to MACFAST. But his long sighted vision and energy that he induced to MACFAST and I am sure You leave MACFAST in to the journey of success. A Musician by talent, a Theologian by academics, but all the above a Visionary by life. Words are endless to describe a person like him. True his statement - When vision vanishes people perish. Now he is going to become our neighbor. A new responsibility and challenge. Its God's grace."
         (Fr. Pradeep Vazhatharamalayil, Principal MACFST)

"Grief as well as pain to MACFAST. A farewell - good bye to Mulamoottil. This shift is for the greatness for society and to students. What all he has touch has gowned in to marvelous structures and institutions. This beauty is a joy forever. A service for a decade is outstanding. Icon of success and icon of excellence. He has made it with severe strives. Something unique and marvelous. Emulative and impressive. Thanks for the great work. Can't express in words.
Now this institution is a symbol of excellence and he loves all and everything. He makes use of everything. So many things to learn from him. This is not a complete farewell I want to make things together. He is a model of excellence. The way you have done is great.
An institution is came to known only through students and it will be possible only by great leaders."
(His Grace Bishop Thomas Mor Kurilose)

"Inspirational Leader. Unstoppable while in talks. new things to talk and new things to share.Once my friend said, 'You all are blessed to have a Principal like Mulamoottil' Father all the wishes to your future endeavors".
           (Santhosh, Raise of Love)

" A non stopping talent. Great visionary. My colleague all the wishes.
                                                  (Fr. Cherian Ramanal)

" A mixed feel. Now he is being elevated from here to a higher post. We are loosing a personality that I have net in my life so far. I can't think a MACFAST without him. MACFAT is Mulamoottil. I wish to see him as the Vice Chancellor of Pushpagiri University. He has the ability to attract people.
                                        (Prof. M.S. Samuel)

"Quoting Einstein "In the midst of every difficulty there I saw a opportunity". This comes true with Father. Once I had a very personal cause that forced me to resign. I approached  him and  said the same. He suggested me a solution within 10 seconds. That is why I am still here. He has the power of making decisions - the most basic principle of management. . Whatever he touches changes to gold - the Midas touch. He knows each and every student of this college.
                                                                     (Anil S MBA)
"Loss of Pushpagiri and gain of MACFAST now reversed. I have never seen such a person like him in my life. Motivation and encouragement he give is outstanding. Once he approached me with a RFP in the Hindu. But I was not much aware about the same. So he said. "Don't worry about that .When you enter in to a subject which you don't know You will become a master in that field. It was true with me." He knows all the subject. In honor of him ,I take this opportunity to announce that I am going to institute a gold medal for the rank holder in MG University in Bio informatics and  Bio Chemistry because I used to institute these awards to great people wherever I worked. He is a great personality, he brought education to Tiruvalla. He established a name in the history of Central Travancore.
He established a personal relationship with staffs, he was very much bothered about the welfare of people. In contrast to the experiences from other colleges, While leaving a person from MACFAST . He bless and say.. Go and grow, grow. Oh . This is very unique and special. "
His eyes started to wet
                                              (Dr. Balagopal, Dean, Bio Campus)

"He was an intellect. Man of innovations. Sole of Clean and Green city project. With in 8 years we have got 53 ranks. He provides best education facilities and infrastructure. His outstanding leadership made this college the most fast growing institution in Kerala. His tremendous ideas and experience made us to mold.  He talks about us and solves our problems. He always focused on individual development.   This is a great lose to us. But we know that we will be with you. All the wishes. Miss you a lot."
                    (Chairman, MACFAST Students Council)

Model to young buddies. He made it in to global with his wisdom. He works for the growth of us. Wish you all the luck.
                                              (First year representative)

Red Tapism

I was listening a discussion on Red tapism in television yesterday, that made me to think a lot. It is a derogatory term which is to depict the unwanted and cumbersome proceedings that cease file trnasfer in governmnet offices. This unnecessary delay in decision making, unneeded paper works, ambiguities, series of officials and unwanted interventions and implementation of plans crawl people in to unnecessary dilemmas.
One IAS Officer in the discussion commented that "Now red tapism is a crucial issue and the decision makers are those who are handling files. Hidimg and missing of files are very common". At the same time, one labor union representative argued that, shortage of employees are the reason behind this delay and government should intervene in this regard to fill this gap.I thought for a moment and realized... some truths in both. But former is more.
This age old practice of red tapism now crushing orinary citizens. They are forced to give bribery to get their papers clear and and right time. Now a lower division clerk can decide whether a file should move or not.Time, money and efforts of people are becoming vain due to this evil practice. So far, Government has not taken any action to stop this derogatory practice - red tapism.
Our Information Technology has developed a lot, but we are still in the nexus of files and papers. An effort to trigger 'file free offices' should be our immediate agenda to find a solution to this terrific practice. This should be designed in a scene that shall ensure accountability of employees. Like right to information act, customer/citizens shall get the right to question if it delays unwantedly. Additionally, government should  take initiative to declare a time line/notification/guideline regarding the same. So citizens can aware about the time required to get their rights and needs.

Manpower shortage, insufficient infrastructure facilities and lack of ample training are serious issues these days. Key interventions from Government is required to stop such unfavorable systems. This can be solved only with the development of better infrastructure. A revolutionary development in infrastructure especially in Information Technology is the need of this hour to make our offices free from files and red tapism.
