Tod – Fod - Jod

What do you know about Tod – Fod – Jod’. Like the terminology it is new to us and new to the world. True with the saying ‘great people talk about ideas, average people talk about things and low people talk about people’ Sam Patroda proves he is the right person to lead National Innovation Council (NIC) who always talks about idea.
Tod – Fod – Jod simply translates to Deconstruct, Reconstruct and Repurpose. He says learning in school should not be a cramming but students should be equipped to grasp the idea and concept behind the facts. Can you answer any of these questions?
What makes a watch tick?
How does the fan swirl?
Why does the computer move the way it does?
How an iron box becomes hot?
Now decide. Are you a crammer or a leaner?
Tod – Fod – Jod aimed at to build a nation of creators and not just consumers of products. “The idea is to inspire children to experiment, participate in hands – on – activity and see themselves how a simple equipment actually operates. This helps kids to link it with what they are studying. The Tod – Fod – Jod concept targets school students in the fifth to eighth class and is eliciting quite a response.  The NIC only facilitates it. Industry donates the devices and teachers are trained through videos made by experts. We only act as catalyst,” NIC Chairman told The CS Chronicle.
The National Knowledge Commission (NKC) was the other key initiative of Government of India to facilitate knowledge revolution. It is heartening to know that nations realize knowledge as the important means of labor rather the capital and machine. Now human is not a cog in a wheel, they are the knowledge workers trigger creativity and innovations. India needs such a good approach not to create mere book eaters, crammers and mere luddites but to create people with creative and practical skills and ideas. This why we say idea rules the world. Let rule the world by creative ideas.
