Crime and Punishment

Two millennium before Jesus Christ was crucified by Jews with the permission of Pilate. Even though 6 courts consistently failed to find any mistake of Jesus, Pilate sentenced him to death.  Iron Law of Rome says, “Don’t punish an innocent person even if we set free 100 criminals. But what happened to the person who came to heal the world. There is no contradiction in the case other great men in the history. After centuries and centuries the fact of ‘crime and punishment’ remains same. Let’s look in to the current scenario; there are large number innocent people still in jails. While ruling the people of India, around 502 members in Parliament have charged with certain crimes. We may take up the cudgel while realizing that the rate of conviction of sexual harassers or rapists is only 23%. Also in different underdeveloped states a large number of hapless people forced to admit crimes of others. Among these marginalized Dalits are the major victims of these evil fists. It is the complexity and burden of laws make our legal system more complex and cumbersome.
But in the other side ‘only truth alone triumphs’! in other way ‘your sin will find you out today or tomorrow. It’s a natural truth. If truth triumphs, crime also has a day for hanging. This is what happened to the protagonist in the novel ‘Crime and Punishment’. Everyone has the freedom to do anything, but you are expected to receive the results of your actions. Almost all religious texts and Vedic literatures tried to depict this truth.
Let me conclude with a meaningful statement in the Holy Bible, it goes like this; “he who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who righteous; let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still. And Behold, I am coming, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work.” (Revelation 22.11,12). Albeit you are now escaped from the cuffs of Penal Code, there is law of nature that is beyond the rule of law, will be caught you sooner or later. Look at the catastrophes in the nature, why global warming happens, why acid rain occurs and why we fear about climate change? It is the results of our actions.
Realize the truth and keep ourselves away from evil doings so that we can avoid the end results.
