It is the first ever coordinated initiative in Kerala in implementing Responsible Tourism. Now it has four pilot destinations in Kerala viz. Kovalam, Kumarakom, Thekkady and Wayanad. It focuses on three thematic areas.
1. Economic - Maximize/Ensure community benefit through Tourism
2. Social - Preserve and Promote culture, arts, traditions and village Life
3. Environmental - Reduce/ Minimize negative environmental impacts
This initiative at Kumarakom selected as Best Responsible Tourism initiative in India by Ministry of Tourism.
Village Life Experience Tours are the another product developed by Responsible Tourism which provides an opportunity to experience the real life of villages in Kerala which is through less travel and large attractions.
