The Gulf Mexicon Oil spillage now turns to a historical disaster in the area of environmental arena. Just after the Exzon Waldez 1989, Gulf Mexicon oil spillage becoming the leading position in the industrial disasters and which is some what more serious compared to Chernobil and Bhopal.
It happened by the explosion of methane bubbles which damaged the petrol pipe line of British petroleum (BP) and an enormous barrel of petrol which came out and spread Florida and Pacific Ocean.Now the liability cap of 7.5 already spent by US Government and sent the bill to B.P. But it is only a minute share of the lion part.In the last Exzon Waldez tragedy Govt. ordered an amount of Rs. $780 crore. But the court limited it to 250 and the remaining liability goes with Waldez also.
Now who will pay for this pollution? B.P. or US Govt. There is a wide criticism to Obama who lying with B.P. Lastly he strongly act for strong intervention in the affected area.
The B.P. Team put different efforts like metal cover, plastic cover and lastly the fiber.The process top kill also fails, Now it is partially under control. Another interesting thing is that the solution was suggested by an Indian.
It will took away the large water resources as well as flora and fauna. Its really an alarming situation..................
We are not learning lessons from this disasters.It is taking large amount of resources, aquatic animals and water life. But till now we are not capable to fight against these issues and also there is a fragile situation on the same.At least a mechanism related to the control and maintenance in these situation is urgently required.
