My village is blessed with pristine
environment, educated youth and peaceful coexistence of human beings. It is a
rural village in Ernakulum district of Kerala and majority are involved with
agriculture and related activities. My Father is a farmer and my mother a home
maker. When I get educated I realized the worth of education that really
enlightened me and gave a vision for future. That was a time of change in my
village. Later I realized that - along with education, a strong desire for personal
development and a crystallized vision about society is very vital for ‘Total
Development’. This was in the wake of my experiences in different campings,
seminars and discussions with various visionaries. Hence I decided to start an
organization for the development of students and youth in our village that
focused on personal development and key interventions in triple bottom line
(TBL) areas. My focus was on
education, environment and character development that produced apparent
results.
NOW, We need a change. Even though
some young people have come forward to associate with us, we need to tackle
multitude of issues. Encroachment of public property, land mining, lack of
environmental consciousness of people create a crisis situation. In order to trigger
a movement for social change we need to intervene in several
policy aspects like environmental activism, social and economic policies,
justice and equality, women empowerment, Governance, Ecological Sustainability and
renewable energy resources. Along with
educated people, we want to develop great visionaries and leaders. Green Life
India Solutions, the organization we registered recently was in the wake of
these challenging responsibilities. We envisioned to create a developed village
through sustainable actions.
Now, the question I face is how I should set my targets strategically.
How I should proceed further to create a serious impact in the society. Impart
great visions and implement these plans is a challenging task ahead. I want to
see my village – a ‘sustainable destination’. Inculcate the same idea to my
fellow beings in a better way is necessary to make it participatory.
